After a season of work in the vineyard--or for some, a lifetime - it hardly seems appropriate to display your wares on a slat on a shelf. That's why for so many wine producers, the final destination of a particular vintage is a place of honor, such as our Vintner's Table. Set apart from other spaces and often appointed with a few bottles, glasses and a bit of cheese, tables like these are de rigueur in the finer wine shops and estate-run vineyards throughout Europe. In keeping with the tradition, ours is designed to showcase what's on top, not to call undue attention to itself. Classical details, like the curved feet, central Doric columns and split-banded, drop front apron communicate a sense of enduring quality. On top, a circle of hand-cut burl ash veneer is inlaid into the Dutch white cedar frame, then polished to bring out its natural patina.
