The Weston Chaise Sectional Sofa by Stanley Furniture is the transitional sectional, the one that bridges traditional and modern rooms without leaning hard either way. It pairs the Weston One-Arm Sofa with the Weston One-Arm Chaise as a single set, so the only decisions are your fabric and which side the chaise goes on. The 7-inch arms flare outward and curve at the top, a classic shape drawn with a clean edge, and dark block feet lift the 116-inch piece just off the floor.

The sit is plush. Deep seat cushions and full back cushions give at the first touch and keep giving, and the 43-inch sofa depth works for sitting up with guests as well as sinking in. The 68-inch chaise is where the Sunday afternoon goes. The flared arms are soft enough to rest your head on.

Both pieces are built on kiln-dried hardwood frames, primarily solid alder, with corner blocks that are glued, stapled and screwed so they hold their shape for decades. Arched 8.5-gauge sinuous steel springs with double tie-wires support every seat quietly and without sag. Cushions are a high-density foam core wrapped in a feather-locked envelope of Trillium gel-blown fiber, as soft as down without the feathers, so the plush feel lasts without constant fluffing.
